So we left Berkley on Jan 31 at 7am at 5 degrees. Fully bundled with the biggest winter gear and packed of a month we departed toward the south. Blessedly the temperatures rose as we traveled to our mid point of Cleveland TN. Stayed at a lovely LaQuinta Inn that was sparkling with newness and cleanliness, most impressive at a reasonable price. This is Harry in his hotel room looking expectantly. So we are traveling by auto with two small dogs. As daunting as this may seem, it went pretty well thanks to some doggy downers and their accepting personalities, mostly snuggling with Judy
in the back seat. On our final day, we by chance stopped in Bluffton GA at this place called White Oak Pastures with a lovely general store and as it were rooms to let in a farming setting. It was beautiful, pastural and quiet. Might be a future plan. These are a couple shots of the ladies with the dogs a the building there of .
There is always adjustment when you get to a new place trying to create new routines. The key seems to be staying
relaxed and flexible. First night is always harder with new sounds abounding and animals settling in. This morning we heard a crowd of roosters with their heralding call starting at 5am. I guess we are in the country. Judy got a wave from a local police this morning with a Harry outing.
Speaking of Harrys, went to Harrys Bar in town for some eats and a rousing good time on trivia night to blow off some steam last night. Every one was drunk and friendly with a sweet bartender telling us breakfast spots. Going shopping for foot this morning.
this is our spot for the month, kind of rustic kind of like Pine Lake Park in Jersey but with palm trees.all for now
stay safe
