This is the real Florida in February. The untrimmed indigenous palm trees dropped their dead members on the ground that are not picked up by the low paid immigrants and whisked away by pickup trucks like in Punta Gorda. This is a neighborhood with dogs, roosters and debris strewn yards with lots of old pickup trucks. Folks in town are un fancy, talkative and friendly, always inquiring where are you from. Many have connections to our origins.
Heading to somewhere for a breakfast out this morning. We are all drinking our morning coffee made with a regular drip coffee maker. No Keurig pods are available. Raining today in the morning, but not a deluge only a sprinkling. Sun not up yet. Watched a confusing film last night, Somewhere Always Never. Wonderful British actors Bill Nighy and Jenny Agutter. She is mother superior in Call the Midwife. I felt stupid watching this film, wanting to be entertained and not every achieving this. Skip this one.
Went to southern favorite Piggly Wiggly market. Really not impressed with this place. Prices were really high on staple goods and the fresh produce was really tired. I am the shopper in the family. Trying the IGA market next hoping for better outcomes.
Thats it for today
all for now
stay safe
